Summer honey harvests
I have three main apiary sites where the bees have access to a variety of different nectar and pollen. I also have bees in the Lomond hills and they are very happy to be beside the beautiful heather when it blooms. This means I usually have a variety of different honey available including runny, soft set, heather and cut comb. I think they are all delicious but everyone has their own favourtite!
Scottish honey from the Fife countryside
Jean’s bees produce delicious honey from foraging in the fields, trees and hedgerows of the Fife. Their hives are located at Ladybank near Cupar, and also at Thornton between Glenrothes and Kirkcaldy. I also now have some bees in the Lomond hills and near Strathmiglo.
We love bees, honey and the environment.
I am passionate about my bees and firmly believe that happy healthy bees produce the best honey. This is one of my bees foraging in the farmhouse garden. This year I planted 500 metres of native hedgerows. Last year I planted more than 20 native trees and five acres of a special wild flower mix. I know this will benefit my bees and other wildlife and pollinators will absolutely love this.
